State Recycling Information

Under Maine law, manufacturers pay for recycling of e-waste. The collection of e-waste is handled through municipalities.

Although manufacturers pay for the recycling of household televisions and monitors, local e-waste collection facilities may charge a fee to cover the cost of their collection operations.

MRM Mailback

In addition to collection sites, MRM may offer mailback in your area.

On the mailback site, enter the brand of your device and your zip code.

If your device is eligible for mailback, you can print a shipping label at no cost to you. Attach the label to any box and drop off with UPS.

Maryland, New York, and Michigan residents are eligible for free packaging.

UPS packages can be dropped off at any location that has regular UPS pick up: a UPS Service Provider, UPS Access Point, UPS Shipping Outlet, UPS Customer Center or a regularly serviced business such as your workplace. A list can be found here: www.ups.com/dropoff

Batteries and Battery Containing Devices

Devices that contain batteries should be packed in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices, which typically include the guidelines below:

Loose batteries should not be returned through this program.
Only one device per box.
The device should be completely powered off and packed in a way to prevent accidental activation.
The device should have less than a 30% charge.
The device should be intact, not in pieces (battery not exposed).
Devices with swollen batteries should not use this mailback option. If you have a device with a swollen battery, please refer to https://www.epa.gov/recycle/used-lithium-ion-batteries and https://batterynetwork.org/safety/ for safe handling instructions. If you live in Michigan, you are eligible for free disposal options. Please reach out to MRM for additional information.
